Most sellers receive their first offer within an hour. Most listings have all offers in within 4-6 hours. In big cities like Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch, full offer cycles often complete in under 2 hours.

Typically 3-6, depending on your location and the type of car. Bigger cities and more desirable cars (e.g. Toyotas, common Japanese models) tend to attract more offers. Rare or very damaged cars may get 2-3.

No, never. If none of the offers work for you, just walk away. There's no obligation, no fee, no follow-up.

Yes. Every offer submitted through Compare Cash For Cars is a locked-in price. Wreckers can't reduce their offer when they arrive to pick up the car. If a wrecker tries this, report them — they'll be removed from our network immediately.

The only exception is if the car turns out to be significantly different from what you described (e.g. you said "running" and it doesn't actually run, or you didn't mention major damage). In that case both parties can renegotiate or walk away.

The wrecker comes to you with a tow truck or trailer. They handle loading, transport, and disposal — there's nothing for you to do beyond handing over the keys. Pickup is free anywhere in NZ.

Cash on pickup or instant bank transfer — your choice. The wrecker pays you BEFORE they take the car. Never let anyone take your car without paying first.

The wrecker handles all of it. They'll complete the NZTA change of ownership (MR13A/B forms) at pickup. All you need is a photo ID and proof you own the vehicle.

You can still sell it, but the finance company has to be paid off first. The wrecker will typically pay the finance balance directly to the lender, then pay any remaining amount to you. Some sellers prefer to pay off the loan themselves first — either way works.

The whole point of Compare is that you'll have multiple offers to choose from. If you don't like what you see, decline them all and try elsewhere. But because our wreckers are competing in real-time, they have an incentive to put their best offer forward rather than lowballing — because they can see other wreckers are bidding too.

Yes — select as many regions as your business operates in when you sign up. Each region is $500/month + GST. You can also add or remove regions later directly from your dealer dashboard.

When a seller submits their car, the lead is matched to wreckers in that region based on your stock preferences. You're notified by SMS and email. You decide whether to bid.

Each seller picks one wrecker from the bids they receive. Once they accept, the lead is locked to that wrecker. We don't resell leads to other platforms or networks.

No. The price is $500 + GST per region. The total invoice for one region is $575/month. GST-registered businesses can claim the GST back as normal business input tax.

Yes. Every active wrecker gets a verified dealer profile on Compare Cash For Cars, with a direct link back to your own business website. It's a small but genuine SEO benefit — backlinks from relevant, authoritative sites help your own site rank better in Google. The backlink stays live for as long as your subscription is active.

Yes. No lock-in contracts, ever. Cancel from your dealer dashboard whenever you want. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
